BESPOKE RAIL COLLAR
This bespoke and budget price rail collar was designed to be fixed to the underside of timber shelving where it houses long lengths of 30 x 15mm Flat sided oval tube. By fixing these 5mm thick collars at set intervals the rail is extremely secure, and appears to be floating underneath the timber shelving.
HAT DISPLAY PRONG
Taking a traditional staple of the Peerless prong range, this bespoke prong was created with the addition of a cork bung to support women's hats in a department store. The end of the bar was notched and fixed directly over a 3mm plate which slots directly into the upright. Item finished in satin chrome.
FORWARD DISPLAY ARMS
Part of my job at Peerless involves not only working with manufacturers new and old, but to analyse costs of this manufacture as well. A combination of both lead me to realise our traditional plug weld manufacture of arms was outdated, we change to a simple braze and laser cut option.
POSTCARD SHELF
This all-in-one folded postcard shelf was designed to be as easily manufactured as possible where only one process is required (bending). With the direct fix hooks and shape of shelf built into the laser cut profile, the addition of the acrylic upstand allows consumers to see the lightweight merchandise clearly.
POLYWOOD DISPLAY BOXES
I love the aesthetics of working with plywood, the layers that are visible from sides / front make it stand out from other standard veneered boards. These display boxes (view from rear) show off the craftsmanship and clever rebated backpanel detail ensuring all faces are smooth, flush and eye catching.
TWO-WAY BRACKET ANGLE
This two-way bracket was special in the fact that it was fixed between two specially made gondola posts and joined by the veneered wooden shelf sitting on them. Finished in a rather unusual bronze toned brass which contrasted the green powder coat finish on the perimeter units in this store.
PRONG ARM BOARD
When we moved to our new home in Letchworth Hertfordshire, we rebuilt our showroom to flaunt the new comprehensive product range. To match some of the units already in the showroom, we designed a 'plug and play' ferrule board hanging on our freeline system for potential customers to try out our components.
DOUBLE ARM
It is often the case at Peerless that our standard systems work for 99% of the retail uses you could find although sometimes customers need an additional component to make things just right. This easy to remove chrome double arm, allows retails to place over a side hanging rail and change stock display angles with ease.
TOP FOLD BRACKET
Just like most of the other brackets throughout the Peerless range, this topfold bracket is constructed from 3mm BMS. With a standard 3-hook detail and tapered underside the bracket is designed to be both strong and discreet when underneath a wooden shelf.
FINE PRONG ARMS
Adding additional sizes to the current standard range of lengths is one of my most frequently completed tasks at Peerless. These special lightweight prong arms sit over our fine rail profile utilising a smaller diameter rod and are chrome plated for a durable classy finish.
OPEN SHELF
This Peerless standard solution, a folded metal open-face shelf, takes inspiration from the 606 vitsoe shelf famously designed by Dieter Rams. Our one piece solution hooks directly into the slotted aluminium uprights and is regularly altered to fix into bespoke customers slot centres.
SHOE BENCH
Every now and then at Peerless I am fortunate enough to get my teeth stuck into a bespoke project from conception to installation. This shoe bench was developed for a good customer of ours who was looking to replicate and value engineer a solution he already had in store. For more on this project click here.
PRONG ARM WITH SADDLE
At Peerless our collection of rails and fittings are divided into three main sections, fine, intermediate and rectangular, which cover the majority of menswear and womenswear project applications. It is my job to constant look for ways of value engineering these systems and liaising with engineers to ensure high quality.
ALL IN ONE DISPLAY SHELF
Taking one of the traditional Peerless brackets from the Rectangular range we developed a simple folded angle solution to simply drop a wooden shelf into. Fixed at the correct upright centres, featuring easy-weld notches in the end, this bracket is made from 3mm BMS and powder coated.
BESPOKE RAIL WITH SPIGOT
At Peerless we are renowned for supplying high quality merchandising display systems, with most of our customer base being shopfitters and retailers. As such we rarely get involved in the full design concept, we are more often specified in a tender. These bespoke rails were part of a full fashion store installation.
SPECIAL WELDED BRACKET
Many of the components in the Peerless range really have stood the test of time. With tradition however comes changes in economies, client needs and market desires. rather than having to laboriously screw 2 shelf clips on per bracket, we often pre weld these on for easier installation.
CURVED DIRECT FIX RAIL
This curved rail was part of a special bespoke project we completed where the walls were not uniform and straight. The uprights were placed to match the interior wall and these rails fitted directly into the single slots. The difficulty with this shop was ensuring continuity between product / site dimensions.
FABRIC WALL SYSTEM
Over a year in the development and refinement, the Peerless Fabric Wall system utilises the infamous SU.32 and SU.20 slotted upright profiles as a basis for creating aluminium wall frames. These frames come in kits either 600/1200mm wide and have an additional channel to house printed fabric graphics, see more here.
600 TRIRAIL
A staple of the Peerless basic floorstanding display frames for a long time this unit is often updated and required in bespoke sizes. Ideal for putting out on the shopfloor to push sale items, the Trirail is easily stored and shipped flat pack. Originally only offered in a circular tube, I redeveloped this unit utilising square as well.
OMNI SHELVING BOXES
The standard Peerless OMNI units are probably one of the most instantly recognisable and time-served solutions in our range of freestanding units. These plywood display boxes are cleverly rebated to rear and fit both the OMNI large floor unit and the wall unit, providing stability and double tiered storage.
FOLDED BOOK SHELF
Similar in design to the open face shelf, I have modified the one piece folded shelves we offer at Peerless to look like members of a range. Our comprehensive collection of folded metal shelves are not stocked but made to order, and as such we can create designs which reflect the exact requirements of the client.
